Accessibility Statement

- Rental of the property also includes use of an electric mobility vehicle called a “Tramper”. This is ideal for getting into the centre of Aberdaron and onto its sandy beach, and also for exploring the quiet lanes surrounding the village.

- We have an electric, adjustable bed which can be set up in the largest bedroom for a small charge. This ­also has removable side rails if required.

- We have a self propelled shower chair in the property that can be used in the wheel-in showers. This also has a commode built in.

- In the living room we have an electrically operated rise-and-recline chair.

- Any additional equipment required, such as hoists, can be rented from a local company in Caernarfon called Living Life – www.byw-bywyd.co.uk, tel: 01286 830101.

Manaros is a bungalow design, built on one level, and to the highest possible standards.


The property has been designed to comply with the Disabilities Discrimination Act and Part M of Building Regulations to enable people, regardless of disability, to have access to and use the relevant areas of the building.

-The property can be reached by car along a newly resurfaced private drive with good wide access off the Council maintained Highway.

-There is ample car parking with a spot reserved for the Disabled right by the front door with external lighted area to the front door.

-All customers are met and greeted in person. Our office is in an adjacent property at the bottom of the drive, so assistance can be given by our staff with unloading and entry.

-We can collect from local public transport links.

-There is no significant step or sill on internal or external doors -with the exception of (a) an internal door into the garage/utility room. Wheel chairs can still access this from the front garage door which is wide and on the level. (b) the conservatory door onto the patio which has a 63mm sill. The patio can still be reached by wheelchair from the adjacent lounge and by a level path around the property from the front door.

-Main external doors are double doors min 1.8 metres overall. Two escape doors are 820mm wide. Entry doors into the bedrooms and a Disabled Shower room and WC are a minimum of 830mm. Bedroom One has a 860mm wide door into the en suite. Bedrooms 2, 3, and 4 doors into their en suites are .750mm wide.

-The living/kitchen/dining area is spacious and all open plan with a tiled floor and is accessed by double doors with visibility panels.

-All the heating is under floor, so there are no radiators

-All corridors are 1.2 metres wide, well lit and tiled in a way that will help the poorly sighted.

-All bedrooms are clearly signed with painted indented names in slate.

-All bedrooms and have laminate floor covering and no carpets or rugs.

-Bedroom en-suites have Marley non-slip safety flooring.

-All bedrooms have wall mounted 22” Colour TV sets with mobile controls, DVD and Freeview. There is a bedside lamp in each bedroom, and Task lighting (swan neck) can be provided on request.

-There are two shower rooms/WC which are specially equipped for wheelchair users - Bedroom 1 and the communal Disabled Shower/WC/wash room off the hall. Both are designed to Part M of the Building Regulations.

There is WiFi availability in the building and loan of a lap top on request.

-All window and door furniture has been chosen for easy use, all fully compliant with Part M Building Regulations.

Manaros is located on a quiet private lane in the village of Aberdaron map ref SH 172/266. Reaching the beach and the centre of the village entails tackling a 1/4 hill. To assist we have 2 electric “Tramper” all terrain buggies which can negotiate the hill with ease and give access all along the mile long sand and shingle beach. There is a public car park in the village centre for those wishing to go by car and parking adjacent to most shops out of peak season. There is wheelchair access to the promenade and Disabled Toilet.

We are proud to promote Manaros as a building that is user friendly for people with mobility/sight difficulties and will act positively and swiftly on any suggestions for improvements.
